This Session, we made Education, Healthcare, and Economic Development priorities, while maintaining fiscal responsibility and passing a Constitutionally mandated balanced budget.

Expanding Access to Health Care
• We’ll enroll 50,000 more kids in health care plans over the next few years by expanding outreach efforts and Child Health Plan Plus funding.
• We’re going to substantially cut the developmentally disabled waitlist. $30 million.
• One of the key 208 recommendations was raising provider rates across the board so more doctors will be willing to treat Medicaid patients. $43 million increase in Medicaid provider rates.

• I personally passed two bills which expand access to healthcare for all Colorado by making Advanced Practice Nurses legitemate primary care providers

Building Excellent Schools Today

• This session we worked on an overarching education plan called BEST, Building Excellent Schools Today.
• We’re working to hold down the cost of college by increasing the College Opportunity Fund by 8% to keep college within reach for all Coloradans. We're adding $53 million for higher education.
• We're providing more aid for students who need it the most. We’re increasing need-based aid, restoring work-study funding to its pre-budget crisis level and doubling the size of our pre-collegiate grant program. $10 million increase in financial aid.

Protecting The Environment
• Create Homegrown Energy - Allowing Coloradoans to choose clean energy and still be connected to the grid
• Encourage new energy technologies like "concentrating solar" and allows the PUC to purchase utility scale solar power when available
• Helping Coloradoans preserve open space, grow the Clean Energy Fund, and afford the upfront costs of renewable energy and efficiency

Energizing the Economy
• Eliminate the busines personal property tax for 30,000 small businesses to cut taxes and red tape for growing small business in Colorado

• Implementing a "Single Factor Tax" which cuts red tape and reduces the tax burden on employers

• Curbing Predatory Lending by capping the interest rate on payday loan companies so that people can get affordable short-term loans when they need them most
